Specialty Lighting

Specialty lighting can be done in any color and design you want and really adds to the ambiance of the room. I recommend adding specialty lighting to any evening event and color coordinate the colors with your theme. A GOBO, aka, monogram or any customized image, is a great way to personalize or brand the event. Here are a few photos from a Real Winter Wedding planned by Events by JC.

Bridal Shower Games

Are you hosting a bridal shower anytime soon? There are so many shower games to choose from! You can go the traditional or nontraditional route. A fun, traditional game is the "clothespins game," where guests try not to say "bride" or "wedding." Pins are taken from guests who say those words, collect as many pins as you can & win a prize! Nontraditional games can be anything you want, such as yard games. The game shown below, "He Said, She Said," is a DIY project and entertaining for showers.  For more bridal shower ideas, check out our Pinterest Page - Bridal Showers

Dessert Tables

Who loves dessert? We do! If you are not a big cake person, then opt for a dessert table that has a variety of desserts, not just cake. If you like cake and other desserts, then you can have both! Simply display your cake in the center of the table with all the other small desserts surrounding the cake. For more dessert table ideas, check out our Pinterest- Dessert Tables

It seems like we are using more and more vintage antiques in events, which i LOVE! Vintage items give a unique character to anything, whether it be in your home or event. You have the option to go all out and do everything in a vintage style or mix and match modern items with vintage flares. Polaroid Guest Book

Instead of using traditional guest books, such as photo books, check out this fun and interactive way for your guests to "sign in." How it works: when guests arrive, they will make their way to a Polaroid Guest Book station. There, an assigned volunteer will be monitoring and taking photos of guests & pinning it to a board or however you decide to display the photos. You can add props to the display in order to make it more fun and entertaining.

Cards & Monetary Gifts

Ever wonder what to do with monetary gifts? We often see card boxes at weddings and events for monetary gifts. If you are having a classic, traditional event, card boxes are great. However, if you are having a unique, trendy event, think outside the box! My past client, Jessica, used a vintage suitcase & bird cage to hold monetary gifts for her spring wedding. So cute and unique!

DIY Photo Station

Who loves photo booths at weddings and events? I do, for sure! They are fun and entertaining for guests and also double as a favor. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford the rental of going through photo booth companies. Luckily, we live in time where we can do it ourselves (DIY)! Here is a before & after shot of a DIY Photo Station for guests. There was a saddle for guests to sit & pose on along with other entertaining props. The area was decorated with various chandeliers.
How it works: guests stand in the dedicated photo area and someone takes their picture. This can as formal or informal as you want it to be.

How To Deal With Children At Your Wedding

What is the proper way to deal with children at your wedding? Remember not to hurt anyone's feelings, but do what you feel is best. There are many ways to go about it. First, you can eliminate the issue completely and request no children. Second, you can hire a babysitter and have a "children room" set aside from the celebration. If you want to incorporate children, it's great to have a table dedicated for kids with coloring books and fun activities.
