Sara & Hank Real Wedding

We had a pleasure of helping Sara and Hank plan and coordinate their wedding which took place on July 18, 2015 at Bella Springs in Boerne, TX. The ceremony was held at St. Peters church and then guests headed to Bella Springs for the reception. As guests arrived, they enjoyed ice cold drinks and appetizers. Food was prepared by Heavenly Gourmet and drinks served by Bartenders 4 You. Northern Lights entertained guests with live jazz music during dinner and DJ'd music the remainder of the celebration. It was a great crowd with lots of dancing. Once the sun set and it cooled down outside, guests enjoyed the vintage seating area and cigars. After dancing the night away and taking pictures in the photo booth, guests sent Sara and Hank off with fiber optic wands to their limo. Fiber optic wands are a great alternative to sparklers, not messy and very safe.

DIY Wedding Gift

Wedding season can be expensive when you are a guest or bridal party member. I generally recommend sticking to the registry. However, there are times when giving a homemade gift means more. If you have a close friend that would appreciate a gift from the heart, go for it! Below is a homemade shadow box gift I made for close friends. If the couple is from different states or countries, this is really special.

How To Steps:
1. Go to craft store and pick out card stock paper of choice. I chose white because I wanted a clean look. Get extras just in case you mess up.
2. Get shadow box frame. I got mine from Hobby Lobby (50% off) 8x8.
3. Find photos of maps. I used Google search and pasted the images into Word. Trace a heart shape, and cut out.
4. In a separate Word document, type couple's name and wedding date. Print a test page before printing on nice paper.
5. Cut paper to fit frame. Use double sided tape or adhesive to mount heart. I drew in hearts with a connecting line to illustrate where the couple's hometown is.
Your masterpiece is complete!

Jackee & Dustan's Real Wedding

We had the great pleasure of planning and coordinating Jackee and Dustan's fairy tale wedding, which took place on Friday, June 5, 2015 at The Convent Venue. Jackee and Dustan's story is very touching and we enjoyed every part of the wedding planning journey with this couple.

They first met at a fire station, and there was definitely a spark between Jackee and Dustan! “It didn't take long for us to fall in love. It is true what they say - when you meet 'The One' you know right away! It was challenging since we where not supposed to be dating, me being an officer and him being a firefighter in the same department. But, after I left the department, I moved in with Dustan. And he purposed to me."

The couple faced many challenges, and continue to face the worst together: “Dustan was bleeding on his brain stem. Causing right sided weakness. It was a nightmare, we spent three months in the hospital for rehab and treatment since they would not operate. During that stay we found out that his cancer was back."

Doctors said there was nothing they could do so they decided to get married in in the ICU in pajamas and fire department shirts, “We Skyped my parents, in Texas, and the rest of Dustan's family who gathered at his grandma's house. Since then Dustan has been in and out of the hospital. The doctors in Wisconsin put him on a chemotherapy that he took everyday. They said it would prolong his life for six months. Shortly after that we found out I was pregnant, with our daughter Hope. But we know that Dustan is on borrowed time. His cancer, Synovial Cell Sarcoma, is very rare and aggressive they say its 2% of all diagnosed cancers. So things like seeing our children graduate or walking Hope down the isle, we know it is very likely that Dustan won't be able to do."
