where is the gift table?

When I'm coordinating an event, usually weddings, what question do I get asked the most? Besides, where is the bathroom?.... Where do I put my gift? I usually offer to take the gift and set it down myself. However, there are many times when guests insist on doing it themselves especially when it's an envelope (filled with money!!). I'm an honest person...sweet and innocent, but nevertheless they don't trust me to take it for them. That's totally fine! ;) I proceed to point them in the right direction and continue with my job. Okay...so if you are planning your event, please include GIFT signage on the designated table. It doesn't have to be fancy. If you are my client, I usually offer to bring my sign for you or make one for a minimal fee. This minor detail is often overlooked, but is helpful to include. Also, be sure to have something for cards to go into so they don't go missing. At the end of the event, have the coordinator (or someone else you trust) to put all the cards into a large gallon zip lock bag. This step is an additional security measure. Put that zip lock bag into your purse/over night bag that is to go into the limo/send off/departure vehicle. Now you have all the money and don't have to wait until the next day to see what you got! Hope this tid bit helps.

Floral Feature Friday

We are going to flashback to February of 2015 to feature one of our favorites....Gretchen and Bryan! First of all, purple is one of our favorite colors and we fell in love with the floral designs of their wedding day. The tall centerpieces incorporated fruit, which was a very unique look! Gretchen and Bryan's wedding was beautiful and the floral designs made it that much more memorable. We hope this brings you inspiration. Enjoy!

Jenn & Norb's Real Wedding

This couple knew how to keep it classy! Talk about a timeless, elegant wedding...I loved every minute of helping this beautiful couple with their wedding. Trendy celebrations are fun, but I personally feel that one day when you look back at your wedding photos, you want to say, "Wow! Our wedding was timeless and beautiful." It was a great pleasure to be a part of Jenn & Norb's wedding day celebration! It took place Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio, TX.

As guests arrived, they were greeted with cocktail hour in the courtyard and a private viewing of art collections throughout the museum. The couple viewed the reception space before anyone else was allowed inside. The bride, Jennifer, was so excited - I think she even had a few small tears of joy! It is moments like those that touch my heart and make me realize I'm in the right profession - love my brides! The celebration continued with lots of dancing and laughter. The couple was sent off into the night with rose petals.

keeping the peace

No matter what event you host >> if children are present, then it's important to keep them happy right? If they are happy, parents are happy. Win, win! If you don't have children, you may overlook kids and not understand their needs...totally normal! I didn't know what all was entailed to "keeping the peace" until I had a child of my own. Whether it's a birthday, wedding or any special event where kids are welcome, I recommend having kids activities of some sort. I've seen everything from a completely separate kid space with a hired sitter to simply coloring books & toys in a basket or laid out on the table. Different ideas for different budgets. Here's some ideas from past events I've coordinated. Cheers to keeping the peace!

Wildflower Wedding

Today is Floral Feature Friday! We are excited to share these beautiful and unique designs with you! Wildflowers were on trend for a few years and are still perfect to use if you have a rustic event. Chelsea and Kyle's wedding was somewhat of a rustic chic wedding and the flowers really tied the whole look together, especially with the sunflower incorporation. Check it out!

Winter Wedding

It's Wedding Wednesday ... our favorite day of the week!! In honor of my 4 year wedding anniversary, I am featuring my wedding! *Jen+John* January 18, 2013 we were married at St. John's Lutheran Church and celebrated at Southwest School of Art. We wanted a winter wedding and chose the color scheme of blue and white with hints of metallic. Luckily, it wasn't too cold that day...just cold enough to call it winter! ;) Enjoy the photos and hope it brings someone inspiration for their own wedding!
